As a Marine Veteran, I take great pride in the ownership of a rifle that I took such good care of and that was there so I could protect myself and my country from America's sworn enemies. I like my AR-15. I know it well. I am very comfortable with it. It is as much of a friend and family member to me as any inanimate object can be. In the 30+ years that I have owned it, I have never harmed a single person. Its existence does not threaten anyone and my owning it poses no danger to anyone that does not wish to harm me.

Gun Control Activists would that make the claim that the Second Amendment is really an outdated concept with no legitimate place in society and that it should be removed from the United States Constitution as having outlived its usefulness. Well, let us examine facts that are never considered as relevant to our nation's security and well-being.

If you add up the number of deer licenses in just a handful of states, you have to face a striking fact:
There were 589,830 hunting licenses issued in 2013 in the state of Wisconsin... Allow me to restate that number: 589,830!
During hunting season, Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world. That is more men under arms than in Iran. More than France and Germany combined. These men, deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin, to hunt with firearms. That number pales in comparison to the 952,989 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's 661,788 hunters.
Throw in 535,676 hunters in West Virginia for 2013 and it literally establishes the fact that hunters from those four states alone would comprise the largest active duty army in the world with a total of 2,740,283 (People's Republic of China has the world's largest active duty army at 2,285,000). Now, add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states. It is millions more. For those that think that spending money on the military is a waste of financial resources, consider that not a dollar of taxpayer's money was used to support this potential standing defensive army that could be counted on to defend this country against enemy invaders. They all purchased their own weapons, ammunition, and supplies with their own hard earned money. It did not cost the American taxpayer a single dime.
For those of you that want to know what the total number of hunters in America are, here are the stats. In 2011, the total number of hunting licenses issued in the United States numbered 14,974,534. That is right. 14,974,534! And keep in mind, this is only counting the numbers of actual hunters. This does not take into account a single one of the millions of Americans that are law abiding gun owners. Keep that number in mind while you read the rest of this article.
What is the point of all of this?
It is very simple. As long as private gun ownership is legal, America will forever be safe from any foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower! Hunting... it is not just a way to fill the freezer. It is one of the major factors of our national security on par with having a strong military. Without taking anything away from the Army National Guard, it is not the Army National Guard that are the Minutemen… It is the civilian gun owners and hunters that stand ready to defend America against any invasion. They are the Minutemen that stand against an enemy invasion. That is why all enemies of America, foreign and domestic, want to see American citizens completely disarmed. That is also why those that want to disarm American citizens are truly enemies of America even if they have the "best of intentions". Regardless of their intentions, the result will always be a weaker America. There are many people that have been tricked into thinking that disarming American citizens will make them safer. These are lies... lies that are advanced by the people that want to see a disarmed America. The people that buy into this theory are the same people that think that Socialism and Socialist policies are good for society. There is no factual evidence that will support these theories. There never has been. A weakened America is what they want to achieve.

- What country in the last 1000 years that allowed its citizens to arm themselves and maintain their arms has fallen to an enemy or from within?
- Are citizens that are allowed to bear arms weaker or stronger within the political spectrum?
- Is a country with an armed citizenry stronger or weaker against an invasion?
- What positive outcome would result if law-abiding citizens were to be stripped of their rights to possess and use firearms?

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control. Overall it is true, so if we disregard some absurd assumptions that hunters do not possess the same skills as soldiers, the question would still remain... What army of 2 million would want to face 30 million, 40 million, or 50 million armed citizens who are not governed by such international agreements as the Geneva Convention and the "laws of war". Armed citizens whose primary concern is to protect themselves, their family, and their friends? Killing enemy soldiers on American soil will become the national pastime and our enemies know it. That is why they want American citizens totally disarmed. No one ever thinks about this facet of national security. As we slowly give away our sovereignty to the United Nations advanced by the Liberal agenda under the guise of compromise and fairness to the rest of the world, it is never thought of or considered by those who hate gun ownership that one day, America might be invaded. There is a quote that has been credited to Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II.

There is not a country on this planet that can make that claim. Those of us that understand the importance of private gun ownership understand this fact. Those that refuse to understand or are just too stupid that they ignore this fact are the very ones that hate America and would like to see America fall. Keep in mind, those that want gun confiscation are the same people that support the Socialist ideals of the time and feel that the US Constitution only gets in the way of their vision of the "Progressive Utopian Society" they wish to create. And rest assure that real Freedom and Liberty will have no part in their plan for America. They tirelessly work to destroy the United States of America from within and eliminating the Second Amendment and the Right To Bear Arms is the first step toward ending America. They will point to every violent act committed by every unstable individual to advance their cause using the bodies of victims to elevate their viewpoint.

For the sake of our freedom and way of life, do not ever allow gun control or confiscation of guns. It will end America as we know it… and that is exactly what the people that hate America want. It is their primary agenda and it starts with Gun Control. Their entire belief is that people cannot be trusted.
I feel good knowing there is an army of tens of millions who would rise to the occasion and protect America from foreign invading armies. I do not want the government taking control and possession of firearms for whatever reasons that gun hating individuals want to use to advance their Second Amendment hating agenda. This action will only weaken America and leave Americans extremely unprotected. Why would anyone that loves America want to remove 95% of America's Defensive capability to protect itself? Why would anyone support an action that would that leave America vulnerable to its enemies? What is their real agenda?
Liberals are quick to make the claim that America uses its military for "Nation Building" and other "Imperialist" ventures. But as a pure defensive form of national security, private gun ownership offers the most effective security for the defense and protection of America. All the government needs to do is to abide by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and stop trying to take away the rights of citizens by the order of those that hate America.

We have such a great country in ways that most will never understand. We can protect ourselves with assets set up by our founding fathers over 225 years ago. There are so many people among us that will do whatever they can to destroy the United States. What is so sad is that there are so many people that will follow these people to the bitter end without thinking or without understanding what is actually at stake and if we follow them, it will be the demise of Freedom and Liberty and America will cease to exist as anything but a second rate nation among second rate nations with all of its greatness lost in some distant history rewritten by people that do not want the greatness of America to be remembered. The following graphic illustrates the confusion that Liberals have with the Second Amendment. It shows the total lack of understanding why the Right to bear arms is so important to a citizen's Freedom and Liberty. They think that Freedom once given is always there and will never be taken.
The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
This picture above shows how ignorant Liberals are on the matter of the Second Amendment. The understanding of the importance of the Right to Bear Arms has eluded them completely for them to hold such a position. It is supposed to be a well-armed unregulated populace. That is the very point! Liberals always miss the comma that separates the first part referring to the fact that a military is required for the security of a free state and the second part where it clearly guarantees the "Right of the people to keep and bear Arms". This Guaranteed Right was deliberately placed into the Constitution to ensure that Freedom and Liberty could not easily be taken away by anyone. There is no association with gun ownership and any requirement to belong to any militia group to exercise this right. A populace cannot retain Freedom and Liberty if they do not have the power to do so. The Second Amendment gives American citizens that power. You cannot have Freedom of Speech if you do not have Freedom and Liberty. The Constitution and the Rights Guaranteed therein have no substance without the Second Amendment.
The first part of the Second Amendment that mentions the "well-regulated Militia" is referring to the military (USMC, USN, USA, and 159 years later, the USAF). Liberals hate that part too. Remember, they are the ones that are always trying to cut the military budget and disarm the military. It seems that they are most concerned with the destruction of America by foreign armies. They do not seem to be too concerned how that happens just so long as they do whatever it takes to make sure it does happen. Really, it begs the question... whose side are they on?
But for those that are still confused by what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they placed the Right to Keep and Bear Arms into the Constitution, perhaps this quote from one of them might serve to enlighten.

You may disagree as many will that cling to agendas that believe that citizens cannot and should not be trusted with firearms. As we bring this article to a close, let us leave you with a thought about the Second Amendment and why it is important. The Second Amendment is in the Constitution to give ordinary citizens protection from an out of control government and anyone that would want to take away Freedom and Liberty thereby enslaving American Citizens.
